From Södertälje you can take a boat to Birka on the island of Björkö in Lake Mälaren. It was the centre of the prosperous Mälaren valley in the Viking Age. The town was founded in the eighth century and became an important trading site as well as an international harbour for visitors from far and near. Birka is on the Unesco world heritage list.
Tvetagården hostel is about 4 kilometres from Södertälje city center. In the city centre you can find the big lock that connects lake Mälaren with the sea Saltsjön. In the central parts of the city you find the popular attractions of Tom Tits, Sydpoolen and Torekällberget. You can also find beautiful walks, shopping centres, pedestrian streets full of different shops.
Approximately 5 km from Tvetagårdens hostel the swimming paradise Sydpoolen is situated. It is an indoor swimming pool that is visited by people from all around the Stockholm area. They come to swim, to play in the adventure section, go to the relax department, go to the gym or visit the spa.
Ejdern is the world's oldest steamboat of its kind. The boat was built in 1880 in Gothenburg. Most tours goes to the old Viking city of Birka but the boat also takes other tours.
There is a antroposofic oasis about 15 km from Tvetagården. There are beautiful buildings and a very special concert house with a big stage that hosts many famous guests. Also you can find Vidarkliniken the only antroposofical hospital in the Nordic countries, cafés, restaurant, shops, a school and many other activities.
Tom Tits experiment is situated in Södertälje. It is an adventure for the whole family. You can find 600 different experiences that makes your visit worthwhile. Without prior knowledge you look, you feel, you bounce and balance.
Torekällberget is an outdoor museum in Södertälje. Here you can find an old village with a square, living houses, a farm, a garden and animals. In the village you find crafts to buy in the little shops, a city museum with historical exhibitions, coffee shops and a restaurant.
The castle of Tullgarn is a beautiful old castle where you can see the duke´s interior decorations that is one of the finest in Sweden. Take a cup of coffee in the stables or in "Orangeriet". There are also beautiful picnic spots next to the ponds.
Approximately 35 kilometers from Tvetagården Gripsholms castle is situated. The castle has a tremendous collection of furniture and arts from four centuries. The castle was built in the 16th century at the initiative of the Swedish king Gustav Vasa. The most famous hall of the castle is the chamber of Duke Karl which is one of the most preserved interiors from this decade.
The castle of Taxinge is, for the tourist, most known for its gigantic and pricewinning selection of pastries and cookies. At the beautiful spot you can also find a little beach, a shop and a couple of royal gardens to visit.
Approximately 3 kilometres from Tvetagården is the golf course of Kallfors. The course offers 27 holes, a 
It is about 15 kilometres to Salems golf club. The club has two courses one with 18 holes and one with 9 holes. The two courses are suitable for both beginners and more established golfers.
Drive your own "soap box car" in a miniature town, where the church is on the village green and roads are winding through the countryside. The cars have real engines and drive on tarmac roads with bridges, roundabouts and road crossings. Suits ages between 2-10 yrs best.
Sörmlands route passes Tvetagårdens hostel right between lap 9 and 10. It is one of Swedens longest nature- and cultural routes. You meet beautiful nature, cultural landscapes and passes historical monuments. Approximately 1000 kilometres and 100 laps.
In Tvetaberg Stockholms para gliding school has an airfield. Beginners can fly tandem or participate in an paraglider education and get a flying licence.
Walking distance from Tvetagården one of Stockholms biggest and most visited paintball park is situated. They offer latest equipment, good tracks and experienced staff.
Södertälje fishing club is situated next to the lake Måsnaren. At Tvetagården we sell fishing permits for Måsnaren. In the lake some of the fishes you can find is perch, pike and whitefish. There are good possibilities to fish from land or you can rent a boat and go fishing.
At Tvetaberg Södertälje's most wellkept tracksystem starts. You can choose from tracks between 1,5-10 kilometres. There are also plenty of trails to follow or why no walk along Sörmlandsleden which passes next to the hostel. There is a beautiful walk, just by the lake, to a small café. On the other side of the lake you find trees chopped down by the local beaver, maybe a good night safari trying to spot him?
If you want to have a barbecue we can lend you one of our outdoor grills. We have a big garden and plenty of tables where you can eat. Or you can take a walk down to the lake Måsnaren and have the barbecue at the excellent grill spot.
It is approximately 100 meters down to the lake Måsnaren. There you can find a jetty from where you can swim. If you walk about 2 km you´ll find a beach and a restaurant. The lake is not so big so the water tends to warm up quite early in the season.
We have nearly 5000 square metres garden at Tvetagården hostel. A few tables and a playground for children and the rest is for playing games.
At Tvetaberg Södertäljes most well kept track system starts. You can choose from tracks between 1,5-10 kilometres. There are also plenty of trails to follow or why no walk along the sörmlands route who passes next to the hostel.
Basta Baskjir offers tour riding, riding camps and mini camps. The baskjir is a strong and patient horse with an even temperament. Many people with allergies tolerate this breed.
Gocart och äventyr have a 10.000 square metres big racing area approximately 2 kilometres from Tvetagårdens hostel. If you want some adventures go there and check out the sharpest gocarts in Sweden.
Lake Måsnaren is good for canoeing. You can rent canoes at the Kanotcenter Södertälje. They also arrange courses in kayak paddling.
