OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT

At Tvetagårdens hostel we work to decrease our environmental load as much as we can. It is for our own sake that we are doing it. We want to contribute as much as we can. As far as possible we buy ecological products from the vicinity. Regularly we oversee our energy consumption, water consumption, how we handle chemical products and how we dispose garbage.

• We have electricity from wind power and a our own Bedrock Heat Pump.
• Our goal is to have only low energy light bulbs.
• All our water taps and toilets are have a water saver installed.
• We only use one type of cleaning agent which has an eco label. Other types of cleaning products such as toilet paper are also eco labelled.
• Our hostel is a non smoking hostel.
• We recycle glass, paper, plastic, carton, batteries, light bulbs etc
• We compost our food leftovers.
• We do not have disposable articles  such as plastic cups etc
• As much as we can we buy ecological groceries
• We lend bicycles
• We have a hybrid car.
• You can use public transport to and from Tvetagården. We can provide timetable.
• We do not use chemical pesticides in our garden.
• We try to work with environmentally aware suppliers.
• We try to renew and repair instead of buying new things.
• We rent out sheets and towels made of ecological cotton.
• We are using energy efficient whitewares in our kitchen.
• We support children in Africa and Latin America through SOS children foundation
